On my mind...

Tomorrow, I go in for my second ultrasound, and if all goes according to plan, I should know if baby number two is going to be a boy or a girl. And it is LITERALLY ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT TODAY.

I should just go home and go to bed until my appointment tomorrow, right?

What might have been...

Usually, when I'm packing for a trip, no matter how short that trip might be, I pack by outfit. And to ensure that every outfit works in reality the way that I think it will work in my head, I have to try on each option as I go. And then, if I think I most likely won't be taking pictures wherever I'm heading, I do that ahead of time, too, because an outfit doesn't count if it's not blogged, you know?

(And my husband wonders why it takes me so darn long to pack for anything...)

This is one of those packed outfits, put together and photographed, that I never actually wore (yeah, I also tend to overpack, which has caused a problem or two over the years...). And now that summer is officially over, I most likely won't be wearing it this year, and, well...sad.

But there's always next year, right?

Pretty, pretty colors...

I am not going to lie...this whole casual Friday thing is something I could really, really get used to.

Just in time for them to move me back to the main office, otherwise known as the land free of jeans, I'm sure.

I'm off to Cincinnati (and Indiana, of course) this afternoon. And I can't wait!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

World's Smallest Violin

Hey, you know what's not fun?

Packing a week's worth of stuff for a toddler.

And to think, I get to do this all over again when we take her to the beach in August.

Can't wait...

(No, seriously...I can't wait! It's never too much work to go to the beach, you know?)

Blergh

I think I might be in a bit of a style rut this week, as evidenced by the return of my 'nightgown in dress form' dress to the rotation. That's never a good sign...

Don't get me wrong, I love this dress because it's super comfortable, but I'm never really happy when I try to dress it up for work. I'm not entirely sure it's really something that is meant to be dressed up, actually. And then I walk around feeling under-dressed for work all day, because I'm basically wearing a belted nightgown. And nobody likes that feeling, right?

Assuming, of course, that other people have walked around in a belted nightgown, I guess...

Although, now that I think about it, that's probably just me, isn't it?

I am totally falling back on my pencil skirt tomorrow...

PS: I posted about my favorite summer lip balm over at Style Lush yesterday, if you want to check it out. And even if you don't care about my favorite summer lip balm? You should stop by anyway...there's always tons of good things going on over there!

Dressing for the weather...

Our temperatures have been hitting the mid-90s in Atlanta recently, and the response from the maintenance group in my office has been to drop the building temperatures to something close to 60 degrees, meaning that I have to dress for both summer and a somewhat mild winter these days. And in my case, that generally means a sweater, a skirt, a second sweater, and a blanket to cover my lap when the air conditioner draft is running especially strong.

I generally look awesome at my desk, I think.

At least I've been able to resist the urge to top my outfit with a ski cap and a pair of gloves, so far, no matter how tempting it's seemed...

Lovely Lace

Lace is the theme for June's Everybody, Everywhere posting, so if you're looking for inspiration on how to wear that pretty piece of clothing that's been gathering dust in the back of your closet (what? just me then?), definitely stop by and check out all of the amazing bloggers who have linked up today!

Lace | Everybody, Everywear

I don't have much lace in my closet, so I had to get creative this month. Let's chalk this outfit up to another blog-driven first...the old dress-as-a-top trick!

I pulled this off of the Target clearance rack a couple of months ago, and while I think it's a cute dress, it's really too short for me to try to style for work or toddler-wrangling. But the top is pretty adorable, anyway...

Who loves sparkly things?

I most definitely do!

I've had this skirt for several years now, and I've always considered it more of a warm weather skirt than a cold weather skirt, for reasons beyond my current understanding.  I think it may have had something to do with the color, or the material, or the silver threading...I honestly have absolutely no idea.

Because now?  It seems like a fantastic winter weather skirt to me!

(Although, I do think I'll try it with a darker colored top the next time it comes up in the rotation...)

Sweaters on Sweaters

I am a big fan of layers.  Big fan.  Huge.

Which is why it's a good thing that it's cold in Atlanta right now...I don't know if I could pull off the 30x30 challenge if I couldn't pile clothes on top of other clothes.

Wardrobe Malfunction

I hadn't worn this dress in awhile, so I thought I'd pull it out for today's outfit.

Then, when I got to work, I remembered why it had been so long since I'd worn this dress.  You see that v-neck in the front?  Yeah, there's one in the back, too.  And it shows juuuust a bit too much skin for my liking, at least in the office, anyway.  So, I really haven't worn this dress since I got my hair cut a couple of months ago.  And I probably won't wear it again until my hair grows out enough to cover the back.  Ah well...live and learn, I guess.
