Tangent

So, this outfit was kind of boring, because I wore it to work during my pre-vacation week o' frenzied disaster, and I was kind of feeling less than inspired.

Dress + sweater + necklace = meh

So, can we talk about Harry Potter instead? Have you seen the last movie, yet? Because you really should see it. Like, maybe, yesterday. So good. So very, very good. But if you are invested in the series at all, I'd recommend taking along a couple of tissues, instead of trying to turn your over-cooled-theater-AC-fighting-cardigan into a hankie, because cardigans do very little to fight the effects of an ugly cry, you know?

Also, I'd kind of like to be a wizard. And I'd like to be friends with the Weasleys, because they seem like good people. Also, Luna.

I am really, really going to miss that series...

Dress: Banana Republic (outlet)
Sweater: Banana Republic
Shoes: Nine West
Necklace: Old Navy
Bracelet: thrifted (if you count begging my mom to give it to me from her antique shop thrifting...)

  1. Oh my gosh, me too! I cried a lot!! Ugh, when Harry was leaving Ron and Hermoine to head into the forest. It was so sad. And it had been so long since I read the book that I had forgotten who all died, so that it was unexpected that one of the Weasleys died.

Did you read Hunger Games? That's the next book I'm super excited about being turned into a movie!

  2. The last movie was sooo gooood! I miss it already. I agree with wanting to be friends with the Weasleys. They've really grown on me over the years. And I love Luna!

I wish Malfoy wasn't such a wimp, though, because I think he's hot. Whoops, should a grown, married woman be admitting that? Haha.

  4. All these reviews make me want to watch the latest HP movie, even though I've only read the first book and watched the second movie. I'm so behind! Perhaps after I get through my backlog of TV shows from this past spring... :)

If dress + sweater + necklace is boring, then we're all boring :) You can never go wrong with what works!

  5. loving the skirt and thanks for the recommendation about Harry Potter. the hub and i are on a movie kick lately so when we go out on dates we've been doing movies instead of dinner. it's been kinda fun since all the big blockbusters have been coming out!

  6. isn't it weird at the end of watching harry potter you realize some weird chapter of your life ended you never intended to begin?

anyways, love that you balanced out the print of the skirt with a solid top

i sorry my blog isn't showing up in google reader anymore... something terrible happened when i took the domain from blogspot to my own at abugandbird.com and it now doesn't "connect" to anything like bloglovin or google reader, pretty awful and i have no idea how repair it

  7. Oh my gosh, I love a Bug and Bird's comment, "you realize some weird chapter of your life ended you never intended to begin." So profound and so true.

  9. Ahh.. I haven't watched HP yet and I'm probably going to ugly cry through the whole thing. That's probably why I don't want to see it just yet, because I don't want all the theater-goers to see me post-movie puffy eyed and runny-nosed. :)

Love the print on your dress!
