It's kind of a big deal...

Ok, it's actually not a big deal at all to anyone but me, but I was excited about it, so it totally counts.

Anyway, I've never really been a thrift store kind of gal because I just don't have the patience for it. I have a hard time combing through racks and racks of clothes, looking for the next great deal, with no other plan of action. The same feelings apply to really big sales, TJ Maxx, and anywhere else where I have to dig to buy.

(Not that this has ever stopped me from shopping really big sales or TJ Maxx, but that doesn't mean I was enjoying myself!)

(Ok, I actually mostly love it. Moving on...)

But I also know thrift stores can be a goldmine of clothing opportunities, at really great prices, and I'm always so jealous when I see other people's finds, so I figured I was just going to have to suck it up and try again.

And a couple of weeks ago, I finally found success, with this skirt, among other items. And then I stopped shopping, for my own good.

But once I lift my self-imposed ban? I am definitely going back...

  1. Yah for thrifting! Some people find it overwhelming, but for me it is theraputic for some reason. What a great score on that skirt :)

  2. And didn't you get a little bit excited when you saw that Talbotts skirt at the thrift store? That's how I am every time I see Loft or Limited or another store that I really like. I get all giddy and grab it even if it won't fit me... I currently have two super cute skirts that are a tad too small. Hey, they'd probably fit you perfectly! lol

  3. Such a great find with that skirt...I love a dark plaid pattern. Very fun necklace!

  4. Cute skirt, great find! Love the necklace!

  5. love the plaid! also love thrifting. i just went today and found 3 pairs of shoes... i even got this pair of kenneth cole ones for $10. they were on clearance at some store for $199!!! i saw it on some sticker at the bottom. i couldn't believe my luck!

  6. Love that skirt and congrats on your first thrift find! I have yet to have my first big thrift find :)

  7. i feel the same way with those stores...ross, goodwill (that's the only ones we have here)...i hate having to dig, because digging takes time, and usually i don't have time. but this was a great find! i love this tartan print.
