Dressing for the weather...

Our temperatures have been hitting the mid-90s in Atlanta recently, and the response from the maintenance group in my office has been to drop the building temperatures to something close to 60 degrees, meaning that I have to dress for both summer and a somewhat mild winter these days. And in my case, that generally means a sweater, a skirt, a second sweater, and a blanket to cover my lap when the air conditioner draft is running especially strong.

I generally look awesome at my desk, I think.

At least I've been able to resist the urge to top my outfit with a ski cap and a pair of gloves, so far, no matter how tempting it's seemed...

Sweater: H&M
Skirt: J Crew
Shoes: Kenneth Cole
Watch: D&G
Necklace: Charlotte Russe

  1. It's ok, at least you aren't bringing your snuggie to work!

That skirt is fabulous, love the color.

  2. Yes!! There are a total of 5 people in my office. And they're all over 50, so they like it to be frigid! I never wear hose in the summer because if I do, then my legs sweat to death the second I step outside. So what ends up happening at work? My leg hair grows from the chill bumps and I have to shave like every other day! lol

Despite kinda sorta dressing for winter, you still look fantastic!

  3. I love that skirt...I love all things purple!! I sit next to the air vent at work, so I always have a blanket on my lap too. Love the neutrals with that great skirt and turquoise necklace!

  4. Surely you can find a ski cap to match, can't you?

You look ever so classy as always, and I love the pop in the necklace!

  5. My office was like that last year, cold as an igloo but the minute I stepped foot outside, hot as a sauna. Maintenance must have done something to the vents this year, because it's actually comfortable inside now. I'm thrilled. No more dressing for two seasons for me :)

I think you did an amazing job with this outfit to suit both temperatures. The blue pendant is the cherry on top!

  6. i love the beige and purple combo? right? at least that's what they look like on my monitor.

i'm so jealous you have a h&m at midtown? one of my best friends from college lives in atlanta.

i know what you mean about it being warm outside and freezing inside, if definitely can mess up and outfit, but it looks like you found the answer for that!

  8. Ah, I just bought that necklace two weeks ago! Love your color combo here. Fact: I have my heater running at my desk every day during the summer. 90+ degrees outside, 50 in my office. Sheesh.
